weber carbs & rotary performance intake

I have a 13b engine with the Rotary performance intake and dual Weber 36 DCD carbs. I have rebuilt the carbs and it won't idle correctly and the intermediate range throttle stumbles, etc. when everything is hooked up. When I disconnect the brake assist hose from the side of the intake, the idle smooths out and runs a lot better. Only problem is that the brakes don't work too well that way. I've seen a few posts from folks with this setup, but mainly that they've encountered problems that they have problems curing. Any suggestions???

You might check the diaphram in the brake booster. It probably has a hole in it. A big vacuum leak.Rob
