Weber cab Questions.

I haven't worked with weber carbs before, so heres a few questions I have. I see a dual carb set up for sale on the internet. The Nikki has a fed and return fuel line, do the webers use this system? If not how do you keep from burning up your fuel pump from back pressure or overpowering the float and dumping gas out of the carb? This is a dual carb setup and I've tried to research the carbs on the internet, but can find nothing on them. Ad says that they are 36DCD7R. Anyone heard of these? Ad says this setup came of of an '80 RX7, will this fit on my '85 12A?

If it's the 36dcd setup, that's what I have on my car. It doesn't use the fuel return, actually you use the return line as an additional feed line. I have a little info on the setup, I'll have to find a scanner and see if I can get the docs to you. I have a setup that we bought from a company called rotary engineering a long time ago, you replace the stock fuel pump with 2 facet solid state fuel pumps.

Check the pics on my site. I just got my car running again.

Wow, just checked it out. Looks nice, if I hadn't just bought mine I would probably go after that.

I'd appreciate any info you have on this setup. I don't want to bid on it unless I can use it. Did it give you much of a HP boost over stock? I've got a stock exhaust except for a Bonez downpipe (no cats.) I really don't like the Mikki carb as the car seems really underpowered. So you don't need a return line for fuel? The fuel pumps don't overpower the carb floats and/or burn up the fuel pumps from trying to pump with out an outlet? Doesn't the return line go back to the tank? if so you would have to cut the line to use it as a second feed line?

you simply plug the return line that goes into the tank and connect the hard fuel lines according to the diagram I have(I will scan an post asap). The facet fuel pumps are available from racing beat, I think... I'm sure any fuel pump would work, this is just how the system was put together from Rotary Engineering. The 36dcd does not have provisions for a fuel return line.

From what I have read it's supposed to put the hp @ ~ 150hp with the complete system including exhaust. I'd definately do the headers and complete exhaust with this setup. I don't have any way to confirm that though.

If you get headers, some type of presilencer, and a flowmaster or magnaflow muffler, it'll be loud under hard acceleration, but not too bad cruising at 3000-3500 rpm (60-65mph), and you can get all of these components, and get a local shop to install for about $450.

I have more pics of my exhaust, just need to update the site to include the new pics.

your prob not getting the full bang for your buck out of the mikuni because you are using a stock exhaust manifold, I bet headers would make a world of difference...
