we got a clutch problem..and who knows hat else
Ok here we go..
Clutch went out took it all apart, found out the clutch disc was fried....fiber all over the inside of the tranny. Got a new clutch kit for my '85, the bearing looks different size like its not a big in depth as the old on, the new clutch disc has 6 springs as the old one had 4. after getting it all back together, it will TRY to turn over but i have not put the shifter back on the ransmission so i can see the drivetrain not moving, when i jacke dup the rear of the car and tried it the drive train will completely spin around........ im not sure what i didnt do right or what im not doing at all.. im thinking i might have to take it allll back apart and start over from the begining and make sue i have it all in place...this is the first time ive done this myself, which is probably why the damn car isnt working....any suggestions?

Not really sure what you are describing here? It sounds as if you have it in gear. If you are certain that it is in nuertral AND the componants are correct,,,,then I would guess that you have your clutch disc in backwards. When you do that the "cone" side of the disc (as opposed to the "flat" side) at the splines, contacts the end of the crankshaft with the pressure of the pressure plate. That means that the transmission shaft is being turned as well and there is no way to actually disconnect the two.
Don't use the number of springs in the disc as a guide as to whether it is the right part,, they vary. However the throw-out bearing, if different, may be a problem.
