I took the radiator shroud apart and had it sandblasted. After that I primed and repainted it and replaced all of the hardware. However, now I can't remember which way this little black rubber flap goes back on. This is on a 1985 GS. It snaps on to the bottom of the shroud with two little black plastic clips. I think it is supposed to seal around the wiring harness that passes underneath it.

Anyway, someone with a 1985, can you look at your car and tell me which way this thing is supposed to clip back on to the radiator shroud? Is either of the two pictures below correct? I want to make sure that I'm putting everything back together correctly.

Okay, I see now. I believe my car decided at some point that that was an unneeded accessory. Sorry, can't tell you how it's supposed to mount.

Yeah, it's the little plastic/rubber flap thing at the bottom right corner of the shroud. Anyone still have this piece on their car? Which way is it supposed to go on? I realize it really isn't that critical, but I'd like to get it put back correctly.

 

The first way is correct.
