Water under my storage bin...URG!!!

So I removed my passenger side storage bin today, to fix my seatbelt, and there was a puddle of water sitting on my floor. Any guess' as to how the water got there? It hasn't been sitting in there for long, cause I just got all my interior back in on the weekend, and it just rained last night. I think it might have been the rear right side drain hole for the sunroof, it was clogged, and I just unclogged it tonight. So the water might have went like half way down the drain, hit the clog, so it found somewhere else to go? Maybe

Most likely. Before you put the bin back in, get the water hose out and gently flood the top of the car, then check for leaks.

yeah, that drain could definatly be the culprit. they have a tendancy to plug up if a 7 has been sitting for awhile. if anything, keep the bin out and pour water down the drain holes and see if you've still got a leak.

This is not correct. The drains around the rear hatch glass run through the inside of the back hatch area, and dump out underneath the rear bumper. Pull off your plastic trim piece in the back of the hatch. You'll see both of them. They are clear vinyl tubing. Probably about 1/2" THey DEFINITELY do not go to the storage bins though.

You might want to check and make sure that your 7 doesn't have cancer in the storage bin area. That is the most common place for rust. My guess would be that your wheel wells are rusted out and the water is splashing in from the tires.

i know where they drain and i know where the drain plugs are that go to the tubes but all i was saying is if that water cant drain out from around the glass lip it will leak into the car and if you park on a slant it will run down the inside of the car. it has happend to me and i have got my cancer area patched by a frame specialist i followed the water makes took the rear carpet out all the carpet around the bins and the back and then the bins themselves and there was the water right where the guys said...im bad at explaining but its a possibility

Gotcha. Just wanted to clear it up for him, cause I thought it might confuse him. Makes perfect sense to me now that you explained about the water running downhill. Definitely a possibility. Check those rear hatch drains!

I had ALL the interior out thos month, and got rid of ALL the rust in the floor. I snaked out all the drain holes, my two rear drain holes, exiit out from behind my targa band. I think the clogged drain passages was the problem, hopefully.
