water under floormats?
i pulled out my floormats yesterday and noticed on both sides of the car that the carpet was wet, however the tops of the floormats are bone dry?
i tried to look for drain tubes upfront that may be clogged but i couldnt find any. also my sunroof doesnt leak at all. my doors leak a little bit but not that still doesnt explain how its coming in underneath?
any idea's?

So long as your sure its not brake/clutch/coolant fluid.......Its pretty common in winter and in wet areas. If you have cheap or no floor mats, the water from your shoes will soak down build up, in the wet months and it can be pretty damp under there from it all.I always pull up my carpet for a day in the spring to be sure everything dried out.The best deterrant is a good set of floor mats.
Check your door seals and sunroof drains too(if applicable)

i have no AC
it has to be coming from under the car since i have the factory floormats with the rubber bottoms so even if it was moisture coming from my shoes it wouldnt be nearly as wet as it is.
i dont think its from the heater core either since its like a spot on each side of the car, right below where my knees would be, but not ahead of that.
hmmm. its been raining like **** lately. i wonder if theres a plug or something under the car that is missing.... but then its wet on both sides :|

where are they located on the car? a easy way to clean those out is with a coat hanghanger or even better a bunch of mechanics wire (more flexible) and just push all the crap out.

They empty out just forward of the door in the cavity under the fender, I think they are in the A pillar, wire might cause a leak, make sure you put a soft end to keep from puncturing any part of it. I use a ridge plastic hose.

Considering where the water is, the sunroof drains are a likely suspect, too. I use an 8-gauge wire to clean mine.
But if that's not it, you might want to put the car up on a hoist, and walk around under it with a portable light or drop-light to see if there's an issue under the car that would explain where the water is. With the car up in the air, and good lighting, it only takes 10 minutes to see everything. Usually at an independent shop with a hoist, walking in at a slow time with a $20 bill is all that's needed.

if mine are rotted and leaking it might be a better idea just to plug em. i drive it enough that water wont build up in there.. i'll check it out tommorow to be sure. thanks guys!

plugging seems like a better solution than having water leaking inside my car causing potential rust. but thanks for the useless posts
i honestly see nothing wrong with plugs if the car moves everyday. it will just run off the back. however if the car was sitting i'd think otherwise.

i'm willing to do that. just not sure how they are run. im sure ive removed the a-pillars before and not seen the drainage tubes.. hmm
guess i'll have to get the car apart to figure it out for myself, but any input would be much appreciated.
