just read it. thanks, trochoid. wish i had known about it about a year and a half ago - i possibly would have tried it. it doesn't quite sit well with my gut, but considering that i was going to rebuild anyway, it may have saved me some grief and downtime.

bookmarked it, though.

Don't scoff until you've tried it. I've done it on two engines and it held over a year each time. Gives you a chance to get a proper fix figured out.

The key is to thoroughly degrease the coolant pathway and to keep revs low during colloidal application to avoid blowing a bleedthru.
