Water Leak

ive noticed a small water leak comin out of the passanger side back panel there for the past month, and it rained hard last night. so when i was pushing my car off the driveway to boost it water was gushing out. so i went under there and pulled out this little rubber plug that i found on the back of the panel thing by the muffler, and water just gushed out.

Now my question is how can i stop water from getting in there.
i believe it may be coming from my drain hole on teh back window, but i really have no idea. where does the end of the drain holes house come out on teh bottom of the car.

looking for tips to stop water from getting in there, cause i dont want it to rust.

thanks in advance for any ideas or what to look for

The hatch drains run thru a hose, that exits in front of the rear bumper. Lift up the rear cover (carpet over the tail lights) and see if the hose is A) there, and B) runs thru the correct hole to exit the car.
Also check for rust holes around the hatch seal.

it could also be that your drain holes are clogged, you can try to blow some air through them, or maybe a thin wire and run it all the way through. mine were plugged when i first got my car thank god that my weather strips were good so the water didn't go in lol.

You'll see the drain holes as you look at the rear of the hatch rim, at each corner. These are attached (hopefully!!!) to hoses that run from up under the rim and exit the rear panel of the car on each side under the rear bumper. Unless you park in a garage or have a car cover, these get plugged regularly. If your muffler-side rear fender got water in it, likely the DRIVER side did too! Also has a similar drain plug. Likewise check your spare tire well now too!!!

As Wulff has said, very common to get rust starting along bottom drain area of hatch "gutter" - lift off the hatch weatherstrip and check it out!! POR-15 will seal it up nicely after you get the loose rust off...
