W0h0 bought my first car!

2 bad I don't have a digital camera so no pics
But I'll just shoot some normal pics and scan it.

It's a 1981 FB, but it's a SA.

Seems a SA body with FB parts. I do have a seperate volt-gauge for instance. Elec windows. no AC, but it ain't needed where I live. It's all STOCK

I do have 1 problem and that's the front-left wheel brakes harder than the front-right wheel. How can you fix this?

And in my enthousiasme I revved the engine in first way past 8kRPM(trying to do a donut). For 2 seconds I believe. Is my engine damaged in 1 way or another?

Well congratulations man! Enjoy it!

As for the engine, I would have to say youre fine. Ive revved mine over 8K for a few seconds a number of times now (on accident), and she still runs fine. Im not saying that there was no damage or that it didnt shorten engine life by a day or something, but in most cases, theres no immediate damage. Have fun with her .

I can spin the tires in first and second, but in third it stops spinning. It's my first car so for now I'm very pleased with it.

I do have a play in the steeringwheel. It's about 1cm. +-0,40inches. I taxed it today and it's worth 2600 Euro. I payed 2000 for it. I'll send the pics when I get the rapport.

What I did noticed is that it stutters a lot. Especially after slow upshifting and realeasing the gaspedal while cruising. Idle is around 1100-1200RPM. It also backfires when driving hard and upshifting.

Any thought about this?

Ooh and this morning the turninglights didn't work.....but after a 30min drive they worked again?

New tires will fix that traction problem right up.

Pretty common problem with them. Heres an article that may or may not help you out:

Do the normal "new car" mantainence first. New fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, dizzy cap, rotor, etc. Also, check the timing and the mixture on the carb, and make sure the shutter valve is working properly. Do you have a manual? If not, I would HIGHLY recommend you get yourself one .

Sometimes, the contacts in there dont like to be used when theyre cold. After heating up, they magically work again. Im not sure how to fix this though, sorry .
