volts

Coming home the other night , I noticed my volt meter on the rx7GS was reading zero. the lights didnt dim and I drove on home . Took the alt to auto zone and it tested ok 14 volts.I have looked at every wire I can find ,no breaks the alt is charging the battery at over 14 volts, Does a meter ever go bad? where should I look? and the water temp guage quit at the same time???

sounds to me like your gauges may have lost their ground, find a wiring diagram and run down the ground wire for the gauges.
