Those are Canadian bucks, so no big deal. And you get what you pay for, right? Post some pics of your new sweetie!

the USD is weak in comparison with the CAD these days. 4500CAD isn't worth much less than 4500USD... we're talking 3500USDish for the car. That's still a lot.

However, I noticed that these old sports cars seem to demand more a price premium in CA than they do here in the states.

well it is a bit expensive, but he is giving front panels (from another rx7 i think) fender and those other stuff that go around the hood. it has z rated tires. alarm, nice stereo with 2 10'' subs. 2 amps.

but all and all, my dad is paying for it! hehe.

the owner also changed the engine with a V8 400cu

just kidding!!! but he did change it with another 12a, at 180k now the car has 200k.

ill post some pictures and maybe divx when we get the car. or ill just walk next door and take some snaps!

only thing i don't like is the spoiler that the previous owner put on. but if i remove it, there will be some marks :s

ha, nice aquisition.

i've always wondered about those names like "dreamingOfrx7" and whatnot. What happens when you do get an rx7? You're screwed.

anyway, yeah, it should be in excellent shape for that much money. I paid $500 for a 79 and an 84 parts car.

POST SOME PICS!!

3500+USD for a 83 GS, that's alot. Exactly what kind of performance exhaust does it have?

well is a ported engine with new headers to exhaust worth that much? i guess the owner wants to recover all the money that he put into it.

You folks are so lucky.

I'm pretty sure the US got like 80% of all of these little cars. Buying an RX7 there is akin to buying and orange in an orchard.

Its all about availability & desirability. A pretty shabby example here is about $3000 AUD.

Aw, and congrats on the car.

Cheers Sue

ah yes... i heard of this scary thing.

yeah i think its the desireabilty that was factored in. just before my dad bought it, there were other people that looked at it and test drove it. then when they left, we jumped right in and bought it after our lil test drive.

the neighbour said that he will get it all checked up and safetied. and change the breaks.
