I'd look for rust and other potential problems under the skin of this car. Internet pictures never show the true condition (good or bad). Looks to me like this car has recieved a nice glossing over. Look at the tire shine vs. the rusty brake disks / dirty wheel wells. The interior overall looks very nice but the engine bay looks neglicted and someone did a tacky job of home fabricating a center shift and radio surround. You'd need to see this car in person before commiting to anything. Asking $3,900, looks more like a $2-2 1/2K car with 105K miles. Like I said, shinny on the outside, but I suspect a few or more possibile mechanical / electrical issues could be lurking under that gloss.

Look at this car: https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generati...miles-1063146/

I have no connection, but this showed up on these forums yesterday. An original owner SA w/41K miles (thats 57K LESS miles) for $900 more "asking price" It's been tastfully upgraded, still basically stock, extra wheels, (has the stock ones too) plus still owned by the guy who fell in love with it 35 years ago. Thats the way to buy an old car every day of the week.

Nice looking car and it's an LE. I a little cleaning up and mechanical updating and it could be a really good one, if no rust under the storage bins at the rear wheel wells and other places, it might even be worth the $3900 asking price.

But Banzai makes a good point, unless it's completely rust free, has not been in any accidents and is running well with no needed repairs, it is a $2000 - $2500 car.

First, the car looks to be a true 83 LE....the paint/wheels/emblems/interior color are all correct for one. It doesn't "look" to be in too bad a shape. My bet is the car has been repainted in the recent past...the door handles should be black, not body color. I also question the condition of everything under the hood, it just looks "dirty" compared to the rest of the pictures, especially with the bungee strap holding the battery in its tray....ya just wonder what other corners have been cut, especially on a car that has been sitting (not real good for a rotary). One way to check to be sure that it is a true LE is to get the paint code off the tag on the passenger side of the firewall under the hood....it should have "S3" for chateau silver.....
