Vapour Lock or empting the fuel bowl?

so i got the 7 back on the road and it handles great without being corner weighted and tracked so im well happy
however i had what i believe is vapor lock again last night (insert your own jokes!)
so im joining the dual carageway (uphill) give it some beans as she pulls well, into 4th near 5 - 6k and its like the fuel has gone just nothing so i ease off try again and it kinda picks up then nothing again, i put it in 5th go easy and its ok again?
i have a bung in my return line as i had a problem with fuel returning back onto the engine bay during a run at pod (not good!!)
im defentaly runing a return when the 48IDA goes on and was looking at this regualtor to do it
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
so do you guys think is was just vapour lock or am i just not getting enough fuel top end and emptying the fuel bowl?
im running standard fuel lines should i run bigger with the 48?
does Elvis still live?

thanks
Mark

I would check you fuel flow first - there is a very good chance your fuel filter is clogged. How long since it has been replaced?

good point it has been nearly 3 years now, but only 6000 miles it is worth sticking with stock or are there upgrades?

thanks

For what they cost, just replace it... Not sure of updates, can always find a bigger one but then you have mounting and hose size issues.

These tanks typically have crap inside, so this will be routine unless you clear that (assuming it is bad in the first place)

had a look at this today and as i thought (after posting!) the fuel pressure gauge was restricting flow big time im surprised it got any so i pulled the gauge off messured it all up and put it back in 5mm higher than it was!
not going to have a chance to drive it tonight but i will do tomorrow, pretty sure this has done the trick though

thanks all sometimes its the silly things hey!
