Vacuum in gastank
I went to fill up today, and noticed a big woosh when I removed the gas cap. Does that mean anything? My engine has been starting to run strangly lately, and i've been trying to figure out whats wrong. Mabey it just needs a carb rebuild.

Does it whoosh in or out? If it whooshes in you have a vacuum building up. This will cause your carb to starve and therefore the car run poorly to the point of stalling.
First try replacing the gas cap, then check the carb for proper venting into the charcoal canister.
hope this helps,
hanman

Just to note: The tank wasn't empty or low. I actually had a 1/2 a tank, and filled to full because I needed to drive a ways. I will check the canister thingy, and make sure all the venting lines are clear.

In my geriatric feeble mindedness, I can't remember who posted what... But someone just recently posted about troubles with his crank pressurizing -
Anyway, it was decided/discovered that his PCV valve was gunked up and not working. It could be a possibilty for your propblem too. Hanman has the place to start, though.
