Using Stock -SE Exhaust System?

I have a 91 n/a implanted within my 79 GS. I'm going to be buying a complete RB streetport exhaust system for after smog, but would I be able to bolt on a GSL-SE stock exhaust system and have it pass the California smog test? or would I have to do some custom work with the 91 n/a exhaust manifold/downpipe/cat and everything else from a 79? Any info is good info. Thanks.

You should be able to just bolt in the Se system. The S5 and Se motors take the same exhaust manifold gasket. As long as you are using the se connector pipe also.

Has this car been to the referee yet because of the updated motor?

Okay cool, I have someone who is willing to sell me the entire setup from exhaust manifold down to the muffler.

And what do you mean the referee?

Because you have changed the motor it will have to be taken to a smog referee to be inspected. They will need to verify that all the emission equipment that is supposed to be on the year motor you have is on the vehicle.

What parts do you know of in particular, all I'm really thinking about is if I have the stock exhaust setup and probably if I still have the rats nest (in which i do).

You have to have the air pump hooked up, the o'2 sensor, the air control valve and the rats nest. The se exhaust will pass the visual with no problem. Forgot the stock air box also.
