Exclamation EMERGENCY!!! Urgent Need Info On MIKUNI CARBS

Ok this is my last try to getting the damned thing start. DOes the MIkuni Carburetors with 38 mm chokes have needle valves for each the front and rear rotor? My rear rotor keeps flooding out and the compression seems fine. I just put a whole new fuel system on the car and it's obviously getting plenty of fuel. Just won't start. JUst thought of it though, could I have fowled out the plugs? Do I need a carb rebuild. This is what happened. I started it this morning to show dad how car starts on the first try now with new fuel system. And that was the last time it started fine. NOw "WHEN" it starts it's like running off one rotar Bap Bap Bap Bap not the usual Brroom brrooomm brroooom brooomm. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.

Your float could definately be stuck. This same exact problem happened to me with my nikki. I taped the banjo bolt right above the needle valve (don't know where on a mikuni though) and now it runs without dumping fuel into the carb.

Damn this sux. I don't have a clue on what to do. I'm thinking of buying a rebuild kit, but what if this doesn't work. I don't like working on my car by myself. Had a bad experience once. Alright well if anyone has any helpful tips on helping get this damn thing working, or possibly purchasing a different carb, LATER THOUGH I have to buy a clutch and fast.........and fix my girlfriend's Honda. Brake lights stuck on and killed the battery, so now I have to figure out why the brake lights on are.

I'd start by either cleaning or replacing the plugs. Sometimes mine get so fouled the spark can't jump the gap, so it seems like it's only running on one rotor. What I do is just floor it until I feel the other plugs spark through and start working again. I really need to instally my MSD, stock ignition just can't cut it running 16psi.

Hey, a quick thought I just had. You dont have that choke lever tripped do you? That might cause your problems. Try moving it the other way if its on.

no guys well I have some good news I did manage to get it started, I got it started with that brap brap brap so I held it at 1500K and it slowly and eventually started to spark away. And the choke is normal. Now I've got some other news, both rotars are flooding. I really think someone sabotaged me and my g\f's car. Both cars stop working on the same damn day. Guys get this, we replaced her battery and the brake lights light up but thats it. Nothing else happens we can't get it started nothing happens when you turn the key not even the radio turns on. But I'll have to take to Honda or something cause I don't think you guys would know whats wrong. My car is idling really dman rich, CARL remember how it was running the first time we took it out and it was puffing black smoke, well thats what it's doing again.

there is only one needle and seat on a mikuni, webber and dellorto. I remember this problem but I cant remember how I fixed it. It seem to me that the carb has a problem with the idle circuit which means it clogged somewhere. why dont you take it a part and clean all the passages with carb cleaner.

Nice view Mel! Got the rest of the manual for it?

EDIT: nevermind, I see it was from toysport, thanks!

You have that choke lever towards the front of the car right Chris? I'm thinking some piece of dirt may have gotten into the needle valve, causing the flooding.

check FUEL presure. should not be more than 6psi.
look through the carb barrel. if FUEL is dripping with no more than 6psi, your needle & seat is bad.
if you dont see FUEL dripping, carb is screwed up.
ATTENTION: FUEL PUMP "ON" ENGINE "OFF"

ok calm down calm down. Carl remember when I said the car was like a girl well.........it is a girl let me prove it. Me and Carl put a whole new fuel system on it ok. I don't know why, but that damn car got pissed off and wouldn't start up. Just let me get it alittle going but cut off, teasing me. I yell and yell at it I curse it start to poke at it and notice the belts are worn and dry rotted, so when I put the new belts on it's ok now, starts fine. Just like a buy her one thing gets pissed off the next day so you gotta buy her something else to please her.
