Urgent gas tank specs question???

can someone please tell me if there is a difference in fuel tanks between all 1st gens or if they are the same and which models and years comply with an 84 gsl-se? Thanks

You cannot put an '81-up gas tank in a '78-80 model because the early models had deeper spare tire wells for the full-size spare. I'm assuming you can put an early tank in a later car, but the early tanks are out of production and kinda hard to find.

thanks - so to clarify - any tank will fit in a gsl-se.. How big are the early tanks - capacity .
-se is supposedly 63L...

oh yeah, gas tanks. 81 and up should fit. if you find a cheap 79-80 tank, please point it to me.

Cool Fuel tank differences

I do know that '84 - '85 had larger tanks then previous years, and I think that all the tanks for '84 - '85 were the same, meaning they would be interchangeable. Can anyone else verify this?
