upgrading to cd

upgrading to cd

hi
i'm going to be upgrading my radio/ cass in my 85 gs to a cd player..my question is how much of a system will my car take, some of the players have a 160 amp.
i just wondered if the alternator would take it.
what do guys think?

A radio with a built in power amp , the alt will have NO problem with

Just remember that the specifications on the radio arent real life specs Just cause a deck says its 50X4, dont mean thta it is, and doesnt ever mean that the deck is better than one that says 42X4

Case in point, take a true 200w amp, bridge mono on a sub. It will ROCK, the deck would NEVER do that

The alt will take it. I have a MP3 player with an amp and subs. But its going to be a pain in the ***, you kinda have to rewire the car.

thanks ...i wasnt sure ..i know i will probably have to change the speakers anyway so rewiring shouldnt be a problem...thanks for your help.
i'm 49 but the way i feel about it if its to load your told old
