Update on my "redline" issue

so as you all know, my 85 gslse started sputtering after 4,000 rpm....i change the sparkplugs/wires, fuel filter, and i remove the gas tank to clean it out....my car has been sitting for about 2 weeks without a gas tank on....i put in the gas tank....poor about 2 gallons of gas in...and now my car wont start...i hook up my car to jumper cables and give it some juice for about 10 minutes....when i try to start the car with the jumper cables on...it cranks but doesnt turnover....then i remove the jumper cables to try to push start it but the battery loses power after i remove the cables....also, after i remove the cables and try to start the car...the cranking weakens and eventually dies

what are some things you do to try to get ur car starting after it has been sitting (even though just for 2 weeks -_-)?

i think the problem is that there is no gas in the engine...it's all jsut sitting in the tank...how do i pump it into the engine....could my fuel pump be out?

before you start unplugging the fuel lines in the firewall, inpsect the spark plugs. if they are wet, then it is flooded.

Remove the spark plugs and clean them with a rag and fine grit sandpaper or a wire brush. With the plugs still out of the engine and the fuel pump unplugged (plug under rear carpet) crank the engine over fer a few seconds. This will force whatever excess fuel is sitting inside the engine out through the spark plug holes.

Replace the clean plugs, plug in the fuel pump, and it should start right up. Works everytime I've ever had a severely flooded car.
