universal muffler

Can i put a universal muffler on an 84 GS. My friend seems convinced that you can, but i thought you kinda needed a muffler that was meant to handle a rotary engine. If it is possible, can someone post some pics of good or bad installs. I am just looking for a look that would be a little different than the stock replacement. thanks God Bless

You can BUT... it won't last for a goddamn. The only one that will do it is an Apex N1 universal.

Magnaflow, Apexi N1, and a few others will work just fine.
