unflooding engine on 1st gen rx-7

i have a first gen rx7 and have been working on unflooding it for a week now and the only thing i've been missing is the MMO or trans fluid. my question is what signifigance does this hold in the unflooding procedure and can the car be unflooded without it. the car has gas, it's getting spark and sometimes it sounds like it wants to start. i keep running my battery down and am running out of time and patience with this car.

Is it just flooded.... pull the plugs, turn it over for 20-30 sec to get the gas out. Rotary engines unlike piston engines don't unflood themselves, larger due to the fact that in a piston engine the gas can slowly drain down the cylinder walls, rotaries don't have that ability.

after turning it over a good 20-30 sec, let it sit for like 5 min, and then put the plugs back in, pump the gas once or twice with the ignition in the "on" position before cranking it, pull the choke and let it rip. It should start right up (don't give it gas while cranking, it will likely flood again), if not it may have low compression and an ATF/MMO treatment may be in order.

Try taking the plugs out and turning the motor over with them out. Dry the plugs out and try again. If that does not work, the atf is a sure thing.

Check this site out http://www.rx7.com/tech/index.html and select "12a" or "13b - common starting problems", depending on what you have.

DO NOT PUMP THE GAS PEDAL.
Slowly depress the gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there while you crank the motor.
If that doesn't work, you may end up having to push or pull it to get it started, fact of life.
