uh now what?
bought a 84 gsl with an automatic (a nessessity for me). bought a battery ,spark plug wires, spark plugs, starter. sprayed a tad of wd40 in the chambers and got it turning fairly easilly by hand. Changed the oil and coolant. The starter clicks when i turn the key but thats it. The car was sitting for 3 or 4 years. i'm just hoping to get it to run for now. I'm planning on putting a little money into it after i get another car sold. I'm kinda' stuck now...what to do? Why won't the starter turn it over? also where can i find a carbon fiber driveshaft or have one made?

think i'm going to go yank the starter and test it even though i just put it on yesterday. and put new ends on the battery cables while i'm at it. and i dont "need" a cf drive shaft i want one basically because i want to drop as much weight from the drive train as i can because i cant do it with a flywheel like all the manual guys. Gonna' probly' get some really light wheels too.Anyway please stick to the problem at hand unless you have hard info not part neccessity opinions.

RX7.com use to sell them for just under a grand. They might know who can make you one.
or you could try this place http://www.acpt.com/driveshaft/driveshafts.html
but spending $1000 to have your car a tiny little bit faster is not really worth it.

Are you sure that the battery is charged? I know that it's new, but it may have discharged in storage or something.
If you can turn the engine, and the starter is good, it is somehow not getting enough juice. Try jumpstarting the car.

replace your cables, too much corrosion, not enough juice. Like he said^, its the starter isn't getting enough juice to turn over, only enough to make the solenoid click

ya what does mazda know about rotary tuning any way. besides that i think they are cool. thanks to all that offered help. i truelly am enthusiastic about the car. i'm just screwing with your heads calling it slow. i'll remedy that soon enough. thinkin on getting a streetported 13b and an atkins sc setup after i get an old car sold.trying to keep things nice and simple the way an older car should be.
