Talking twin turbo swap

i just found a guy with a 93 twin turbo engine that needs a rebuild but the turbos are good. I am thinking about putting it into my 1st gen but have a few questions first. Where can i find a computer for it and is the 12a tranny strong enough for every day driving with that engine or do i need a turbo tranny?

You need the turbo tranny period.

There's a reason he's throwing the turbos away - they're garbage!

You will NEED A t2 tranny preferably from a series 4 (87 or 88 t2) A haltech computer can be found from Rpm centre and figure on about 3-4k extra after you buy the motor.... Remeber the twins will have to be non seq... and you wil have about 250hp

that's an awful lot of fabrication when much better can be done with other setups.

Give it up, unless you understand everything perfectly...

I was begining to wonder on this 13b-rew deal, you have no idea what you are getting yourself into, and the path will be paved with $$$'s and a LOT of them at that!

Here's a 13BREW that is installed on an FB. The extend of the conversion is as follows:

* stock 13BREW engine and tranny
* stock 3rd gen ECU.
* Harness came from 3rd gen and was stripped of any wires/connection not needed.
* 3rd gen radiator and fans. ECU fan switch setup to run both fans.
* Custom oil cooler.
* Custom exhaust works.
* Engine mount/subframe fabrication.
* Tranny mount fabrication.
* Modified drive shalft to make it work with 3rd gen tranny and FB rearend.
* 3rd Gen gas tank.
* Misc electrical work for the car dials/gauages.

The car is quick with the twin turbo setup and sure is a sleeper.
Here's picture of the initial swap.

Do it so I can race you, I've only raced 1 other RX-7 in the city so far. I thought you were selling the car?

As long as you don't have traction, you don't need to upgrade your box or diff.
