I remember someone saying awhile back that they put their tweeters in the vents to give their system that hidden look. Have many of you done this? How does it sound? How hard is it to get them in there? I have an 83, the passenger side doesn't seem like it would be that hard, but how do you get into the driver side? TIA
Very easy to do, not such a good idea for your front soundstage unless you can get the mid-range speaker within 8" of the tweeter...
it's all covered if you'll do the search...put in tweeter and dash...

Heres the way you can do it pretty easy
Take a piece of backstrap (looks like plumbers strap but thicker, used to come with radios)... Cut off a piece of backstrap about 1/2-3/4" wider than the diameter of the inside of the air vent. Mount your tweeter to the backstrap, now pop the vent out of the dash by turning it sideways and pull it out. Now far back into the vent, take a razor blade and cut 2 small slits out of the ducting, now take the backstrap piece and push it into the 2 slits, Presto your done
