Turn signals not working until car is heated up

This is the strangest thing I've ever seen... I've got an '85 GSL-SE and the turn signals don't work until I've had the car running long enough (and the heat is on and not freezing inside). Then all of a sudden *poof* they work like magic.

The Hazard lights do the same thing, haven't worked at all yet (although I haven't tried them when the turn signals ARE working yet, so they might work at the same time the turn signals are working).

maybe I need to fill up the turn signal fluid huh?

Anyone want to come up with a fix or reason?

I have that same problem with my Honda... the turn signal 'flasher' unit freezes inside, therefore not working until it heats up.

Bad ground connection-doesn't make good contact until the metal expands. Just a thought.

whats more common is the highlights with the combo switch problem (do a search)

maybe taking out the combo switch and cleaning it up a little will help???
