Turn signal help ):

As if my day could be any worse, yesterday my turn signal went limp. Now I drive and everyone thinks I'm making a left turn. Meet a lot of nice people that way, but it's not much fun.

I noticed a spring covered in grease on the floor today- I assume it's from the turn signal lever. My question is, does anyone know exactly where it goes?

A picture would help. There's no covers behind the wheel on mine, so it's all just exposed.

I don't know if there should be more pieces missing, but this spring is a start.

My weekend sucked, I got in the car Saturday evening, and my window wouldn't go up. It's had some problems since I got it, but it's always gone up with some coaxing. Well now the gear is busted I guess, because it won't budge. It's the beginning of our rainy season, and I've driven now in pouring rain twice at least. It basically rains daily ):

What year is your car? The turn signal stalks are different from 79 to 83? used one style and 84 and 85 used another(I know if I am wrong on the years someone will be kind enough to correct me).

Ok, now I see more of the problem. it's not just a spring that popped off. There's more. A white curved plastic piece broke in half, and I just found it on the floor. Not sure how I missed it sitting there.

So looks like I need a new one of these things.

New ones are pricey. The white curved plastic is the slide for the turnsignals. Try finding someone parting a car first or a salvage yard.

ah yes, used is what I mean when I say new (:

One more thing to add to my shopping list.

Still don't know just how or where the spring is related to the white curved piece.

Thanks for the pictures, I got it fixed finally.

First I had superglued the piece just before opening my e-mail. Put the spring in, tried getting the white piece in, and it broke. So I put it in in 2 pieces. But then it didn't look right...I wanted it to work right. So I superglued the piece together while in place. It broke.
So I superglued it again, then while holding it in place, superglued all around it, to every bit of plastic it contacts.

That worked (:

Now my turn signal has a more solid feel. I did get the wheel a little off, I'll see if aligning it correctly allows it to cancel when I turn. Currently it doesn't cancel, but it didn't before either.
