Since this problem started right after you fuc...
ahhh...modified something, then that is the culprit.

I believe you caused a short or a ground while fuc..
I mean, modifying your cluster.

J/K modifying is part of a 1st Gen's life.

It does sound wierd though. Pull the cluster out again and see if it keeps doing it. If not, make sure all exposed wires are insulated, and put it back carefully.

Check and see if you didn't install a male wire harness upside-down in its receiving female end. Maybe the one-way tab broke off and you didn't realize it.

I looked over a wiring diagram last nite, and I see no direct relationship to the parking lights or the starter. You have had to plug some wiring harness in wrong or something.

I dont see how its possible, but stranger things have happened to me...

woo hoo I want my car to do that!. j/k

Sounds like a switched connection somewhere, pull the cluster and double check everything over again.

Stranger things have happened, turning on the car and automatically finds the first christian radio station and won't let you change it to anything else. I fixed it by buying a new radio. Maybe this time God or yzr-f1 won't try and convert my car.
