Turbo Muffler?

Hey does anybody know what a good muffler would be to have tucked under the body before the rear axle for my turbo project would be? I'm gonna build a custom exhaust with 2 1/2 or 3 inch piping so any thoughts?

A Racing beat presilencer would be a good choice.

I went with a magnaflow full stainless straight-through muffler.

Theyre fairly inexpensive, and I would expect it to be able to stand up to the heat.

I live in Maryland so I still have to deal with emissions. ^^^Those aren't bad and really aren't priced high at all

I think it might be a challange to pass emissions and turbo the car without a lot of restriction. I personally would go with a magnaflow muffler as well, and your going to have to use some sort of high flow cat or resonator. Your car isn't emissions exempt because of the year?

Nope. Not in Maryland. 1977 and newer has to go through the tail pipe test

I would just make life simpler and run a 3" single in and a 3" single out. That's what I plan on doing with my turbo project. I'll be running a magnaflow as well.

what do you mean adaquate exhaust pressure for both outlets? If your going turbo, and your running a full 3" exhaust I would imagine that you would have more than enough pressure, or fumes coming from both outlets.

You may want to consider going with a pre-silencer after the DP, then on your Y-pipe, running a muffler on each end, simmilar to a turbo II setup. I would try to go with a full 3" all the way, and mandrel bent to be as non-restrictive as possible.

A single exhaust would ideally be better though, and be less restrictive, as well as more cost effective.

Running two mufflers would be more restictive I would think. But I mean will there be adequite exhaust pressure for the exhaust gasses to escape the dual outlets with a decent amount of pressure and don't just linger in the pipes. I need a high flow cat because of Maryland emissions so I don't want to run a presilencer and I don't want to run a Y-pipe. I figured running a dual outlet muffler would equalize the pressure and be less restrictive. To be honest I'm not even running the exhaust past the rear axle so that should give you an idea
