turbo fpr question

i just picked up a gsl-se pump and a adjustable 1:1 rising FPR for my 12a turbo project, but the fpr is not a retun style, is that ok? also am i going to need larger fuel line or return line or something?

You'd be better off with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator with the boost reference nipple to dial in exactly the fuel pressure you need.

I had a vortech 1:1 return style and my car never ran right.

Good luck

it is a rising rate fuel pressure regulator like i said before, it has the boost reference nipple,

i guess i just dont understand why some people use an fpr with a return. what is the significance of that? is it nessesary? because the carb has its own return, is that not large enough or something?

think its becouse if you dont you could over power the regulator if ur running a big enough pump. Or you may fry the pump cause its working over time. IDK either. Would be nice if someone with a Turbo FB posts what they run.

This is what I used on mine, it has a return port and I capped the return on the carb. http://www.jegs.com/i/Mallory/650/4309/10002/-1?CT=999

If you're spending the money to go turbo, don't buy cheap ebay junk, unless you like doing things twice.

It says its 3 to 12 PSI, Is that native pressure or max that it will go to?

That's the base pressure, it increases 1:1 from there with boost.

well yours probably works differently, the mallory 4309 return style reg varies fuel pressure by controlling the restriction in the reg's return line, that is why it needs one

also if i were you i'd get a fuel pressure gauge in the cabin, blow through fuel pressure is not a "set and forget" thing, if you care about the lifespan of your engine fuel pressure needs to be monitored and correlated with boost pressure on the fly. that's my opinion anyway.

all the rest of my gauges are glowshift so this is perfect, 0-30 psi with electric sender, ill just put a T on the gauge thats on the reg now and put the sender unit in there.
