I have an 83 rx-7 and am looking to swap to turbo after I rebuilt the motor. Does anyone have any suggestions on were to buy parts?

by swap to turbo do you mean a TII engine or are you trying to turbo your 12a?

at the moment there are 2 12a turbo kits on ebay iirc

I would recommend if you want to turbo though, just TII swap. if you want to build a TII engine there's a lot you would need, you would be far better off buying one with good compression or buying a cheap one and rebuilding it and only replacing what you have to

The stock Nikki carb can be successfully boost prepped. This lets you keep your 12A.

I have successfully converted a v6 N/A to turbo on my previous car, and was very satisfied with the end result. But in the future I would swap in a turbo engine and upgrade the necessary components. You can make the N/A work well, but there are a lot of "minor" details that get addressed by engineers in production development. I would rather focus on the fun/more interesting upgrades. But I also do some things the hard way just to see if I can. So I won't judge you either way. Just my 2 cents.

Shim the oil regulator, boost prep the nikki, and limit the timing. Other than the turbo and necessary piping; there isn't much else to buy.

Well I guess a Mallory 4309 and a better fuel pump are required to run boost. But just pick one up from CL or ebay and off you go.

^Yes, turboing a 12A is easy. I'll be building one over the winter.
