i have a 81 gs that i put a gsl drive shaft and entire rear end with the disk brakes
but i want the 13b turbo out of an s4
i have heard that you can only use a s4 motor so it will bolt up to the trany then i guess i need new motor mounts and a gsl se rear end and axles
i just want to get some advice from some one who has a completed swap into their first gens anything would help im just tired of getting the runaround

Search long and hard, it's been covered to death in many different threads.

 

Well, not sure who you heard the S4 only swap from, but you've heard wrong. Look through the archives, there's a couple threads in there to help get you started.

 

The gsl rear you have in there will handle the power as long as you don't beat the hell out of it. You'll also want the T2 trans, this will require a custom driveshaft, and no T2 engine will bolt right into a first gen, the first gen front cover must be used.
