turbo 12a vs. modded S2000

well, we finished my friends turbo 12a setup just recently and i figured i would post a little footage of it. this isn't the best camera setup as it's filmed from a chase car.

83 gsl (known on this forum as: 84gsNC)
my boost prepped nikki
rotary shack carb hat (beautiful)
s4 TII turbo
rene's tubular header
a stock TII downpipe cut and extended to a Racing Beat cat back. (yes, restrictive but omfg it's quieter than STOCK!!!)
stock clutch that is barely holding up
msd ignition
accell super coil
custom wires
running wg set boost pressure, which = around 10 psi after the creeping from 5500 and up.

i'll set up this vid real quick. the camera is held by a passenger in our friends stock n/a FC. him and the turbo fb were playin around on the highway when all of a sudden this beast S2000 (pretty fuggin fast) comes rollin up to play. they get a couple runs in and the FB comes out ahead yayyyyy

i'm trying to get a compilation of mine and his out beasting the streets soon. keep your eye's peeled

well since his header is like mine, we were only able to use about 3" of the actual TII downpipe, then custom piping was used from there and bent to clear everything. it's all 2.25" i think. insane how quiet it is.

^^^You and me both! Mine isn't running because I'm just not sure which direction I want to have it in. That and everytime I want to put the carb on the weather turns to crap.

So I've been working on the interior and exterior since I'm undecided on the engine.

hey man, i appreciate that! he definitely is learning alot from being around me and we are pretty good friends because of all this now. hahaha, pretty crazy. RX7's bring out the best.

i did forget to mention fuel....

-msd fuel pump
-aeromotive 13302 fpr w/ 1:1 boost regulation

we went out tonite to have some fun with the beasts, but it ended up raining like crazy. me and him tried to get a couple runs against each other but my car kept sliding out in 4th gear and facing him. needless to say we didn't complete any races. lol

Hey FBII,
What kind of horsepower is your car making, ever had it on the dyno? Ive always had N/A motors but I am thinking of going turbo. I think id be happy with 250-300 rwhp. Would be going through a streetported 13b with holley setup. Im clueless when it comes to turbos but will have to learn Ever come down to Raleigh?? Carl

carl i'm not really sure of the power i'm putting to the ground. i will find out very soon tho. my friends own a shop and have an in-house dyno. maybe this week i'll go down there and see what she's got. it feels fuggin great tho. the car is insane and has actually broken the tires loose in 5th gear on dry roads.... lol but the tires weren't the greatest i've pulled on 380rwhp 240's, mid 12 second evo's, swapped civic hatch's, and lots of other fun stuff. i can't imagine a bigger turbo and ported 12a

300rwhp on a turbo streetport 13b using a holley will be cake. i've gotten pretty good at messin with the double pumpers and may end up using one when i put a ported 12a in.

oh and i haven't been to raleigh in ages, but if you guys have a good rx7 meet or something i may have to bring the crew.

yea, thanks for all the compliments. FBII seems to be an unlimited source of 7 knowledge for me and Im tryin to take it all in. setup works great, better drivabilty off boost than my RB holley setup that I had. under boost and its rediculous. Ill try to get some pics up, though its I identical to FBII's. hopefully we might get to lineup this weekend on the highway w/ a vid in maybe a better chase car
