trying to take off the steering hub of my mazda 81 fb to put an nrg one

trying to take off the steering hub of my mazda 81 fb to put an nrg one

so i got all the surrounding components off but how do you take off the actual hub do i just like hammer it off

The hub itself should be a single bolt holding it on, take that off and then pull straight back, some people have broken pullers trying to get them off and some give it a little tap and it slips right off so it's a coin toss as to how yours is gonna be.

yea the rough way i tried pulling and it takes alot so i just wanted to make sure before putting more force

Yea a few love taps could probably help, just be sure not to hit anything else lol. Do you have the part numbers by any chance for your NRG stuff? I've been looking into getting a hub from them when I get my next wheel. And if you could take pics of the finish product, that would be awesome!

Dont tap on anything. There is a plastic (safety related) sheer pin in the steering shaft that is easily sheared. Just pull with both hands and rock from side to side, even if it is stubborn it will eventually come off.
