Firstly, welcome to the eforum. check out the faqs, archives and the search button. Lots of great info. Also, its GSL, there was never a GLS model.
I'm pretty sure the base model 2nd gen seat rails are the same so you can put some 2nd gen seats in.

I'm sure the 2nd gen seat will be the easiest swap due to the exhaust hump on the passengers side.
But if there is a will there's a way... it's just a hard way to get an aftermarket seat to sit right on the pass' side.

thanks for all the advice guys. so my next question that i could get smacked up side the head for is this... the first gen rx7 go from 79 to 85 so does that mean there parts are interchangeable too??
Some are.
Within the first generation there were "SA's" (79-80) and "FB's" (81-85)
Then you have Series 1 (79-80), Series 2 (81-83), and Series 3 (84-85).
Within all of those, some are interchangeable and some are not; it really depends what you are looking at...
And within the first generation you have 2 different engines, the 12A and 13B.

All you need is the stock sliders off of the DS seat. Bolt them onto your TII seat and your good to go. The PS doesn't need anything, it will bolt right up.
Or is it the other way around???? Either way, easy.

If you want, I have some great condition FB leather seats. They have had an ugly wool seat cover on it all their life so the leather is still smooth and buttery...
The only problem.. is that I am waiting for a set of after market seats.... so if you're not in a bog rush.. PM me...
BTW, I think 2nd Gen would be the best option... though the miata seats may fit pretty nicely too. Good luck!

secondly, from what I have seen, the fog lights are ussually mounted in or near the intake on the lower side of the bumper. Or if you have an aftermarket air dam, in a conviently cut hole...
o
First off, you should probably make that a new thread, just to save the confusion.

I prefer cloth seats because they're cooler and the butt grip is better, and the 83 are the lowest and thinnest, a benefit to us tall guys. I had a nice pair of 83 burgundy cloth seats once and I'd love to have them now for my SE.
lol
I am 6'2 and 230 pounds I hate the leather seats that’s why I am changing them out. And if it’s not the seat bothering me it’s the damn floor mat sliding under my pedals
