Trouble Getting Into First

Hey. I can't get my car into first from a roll. Anyone know what this might be? I can put it into first if I'm stopped or going really really slowly (1mph), but other than that it won't go. I can force it, but it doesn't like it. Someone said it might be the pilot bearing, but if that was the case wouldn't it not want to go into first from a stop, too? It goes in perfectly if it's stopped. I changed the tranny fluid today, so it isn't that. Any ideas? It kinda sucks not being able to downshift into first, and my first autox is coming up. Thanks.

I don't know what thast is either but both my '85 GSL, and my "84 GSL do that also.

I am not sure but I wonder if there is some sort of device to keep you from shifting into some gear at too high an RPM. But that is just a thought.

Maybe it's supposed to be like that? If so is there anyway to remove it? Maybe it's just a GSL thing, but I certainly don't like it. Thanks for your input, anthrax.

It seems like it won't go into first over 10MPH. I think it's something built in. Is there anyway to disable this?
