trash the heat shield?

Getting ready to install engine and tranny. I have RB headers and straight exhaust. Will I notice too much heat if I left the top heat shields off? Just don't like the extra weight and the hassle of putting them back on if not needed.

Which ones? The elders recommend leaving as many heat shields in place as you can.

The main shield the is above the original main cat which I don't have anymore. All I have now is the RB headers, straight thru to a small resinator with a Magnaflow muffler.

Just cut it down so you dont have to worry about it anymore. That way its out of the way of the tranny mount.

I already have it removed, but if you think I need to just cut it down and put it back on, that's what I will do.
Thanks,
