Transmission rebuild

Well it's finally happened, seeing as I learned to drive a stick with my rx-7, the abuse the tranny took has caught up with it and I need to rebuilt the tranny because the synchros are worn out. She grinds like a b*tch if I don't match the revs going into 2nd and 3rd and others if I shift real fast. Does anybody know where to pickup a rebuild kit for an '85 gsl-se?

in all actuality it would probably be cheaper to pick up a used transmission than to rebuild one. Rebuilt trannies always have problems anyway, they never work like the original did. Go see if you can find one out of a junk yard.

I got a good GSL-SE tranny for $150 + shipping. It was removed from my car since I upgraded to a T2 tranny. It was working perfect when I removed it.

You will however need to install your existing shifter control box onto it. It's a pretty easy job to re-attach the shifter box. Much easier than rebuilding a tranny yourself.

PM me if you're interested.

To rebuild a transmission youll need 2 special tools. A 2ft deep socket and 2ft gear puller to get it apart.
