It comes in the bottle 50% ATF and 50% gear oil. It is mixed at the factory and is sold as such.
Also, the RP gear oil (also premixed with LSD addictive) took away the the majority of the LSD whine that was pretty loud.
On an FC I used to have, I also tried the Mobile 1 that someone mentioned on here. I also had heat problems and I had issues with finding the gears when cold.

Wow, I'd never heard of anyone offering a pre-mixed product like that. Cool.
I tried the Royal Purple in my LSD rear end, but chattered like my wife. Had to add another tube of addative to put a stop to it. If only it were that easy to shut my wife up.
(just kidding, I actually have a great wife)

what i do to go into reverse is almost like what Kentetsu suggested but instead of first gear i always go to 5th gear so it's:
Clutch in
5th gear
reverse
clutch out
first gear is usually a bit stiffer than 5th in almost any car lol, and it will still line up all the synchros to make reverse a lot easier to get into with no noise problems. and just a bit quicker than going all the way to first and back to reverse, save a second or two
hope that helps.

1) Has anyone tried the Royal Purple Synchromax fluid? It is built for manual gear boxes that recommend ATF from the factory (like some GM gear boxes.)
2) I built a gear box a couple of months ago with all new synchs, shift forks, every bearing new, etc. I put Mobil 1 synthetic in it, because it worked pretty good in all of the well used gear boxes I tired it in. This fresh built tranny upshifts nice, but it is hard to downshift without heel&toe. The downshifting has gotten better now that I have about 500 street miles on it, but it still is not as smooth as I think it should be. I have heard rumours that Mobil1 and some synthetics are too slippery for synchs to work properly. What are y'alls thoughts about synthetics being too slippery?

Amsoil ATF is for Automatic Transmissions....not a Mazda manual transmission.
I am using Amsoil 75-140W and it works great. Not stiff when cold and handles the heat of a long race. I have also used 75-140W Royal Purple....like the Amsoil better.
