Transmission interchange question.

will a 12a 5 speed work in my 84 se. i need a tranny bad and they are so cheap!!

Yes. As long as it is from an '81-'85 car. The '79/'80 have the shifter in a different location. Only real difference between the 12A and 13B trannys is a different 5th gear ratio and externally the SEs have a vent on the bellhousing whereas the 12A cars don't. I have a 12A tranny in my SE, BTW.

Get the classifieds on here. You may be able to even find a SE tranny close to you that's cheap. If not, the 12A one will do.
