Tranny question (need help)

Hello fellow rotary owners I have a question, will a 79 or 80 rx7s tranny fit into my 85 gsl without having to do any moding on the tranny? A take out and drop in type deal? Ive searched the faqs and guess I dont knw how to use it but could not come up with anything. thanks in advanced.

The difference in the two is the location of the shifter. The SA shifter is further forward than the FB. The rubber seals around the shifter will not line up and you may have interference with the dash panel just ahead of the shifter that could keep it from going into 1st, 3rd or 5th, may even have to enlarge the hole in the floor.

LOL, you beat me......
