Tranny question

Alright so back in September I put my car away for the winter cause I was going away to college. Just before I was prepping everything on my last drive around town I heard something that sounded like something hitting the floor from the general area of the transmission while I was going over a bump that I go over every single day no problem. Anyways from that point on the car didnt want to stay in any of the "down" gears (2nd, 4th, and reverse). I slowly made it home using first and third and put it away. I never had time before to check it out before as I was on a tight schedule but now that I am home for a week I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem could be, and how to fix it. Thanks a lot.

Sounds like the tranny brace fell off or is loose. Get the car up on jackstands and check to see if the brace is flush with the mounting points and check the torque on the bolts. If the two on each wing are tight, the rubber mount between the brace and the transmission may be torn or loose.

If that's not it, I'm clueless (as opposed to normal....)
