i'Ve bough a 4 port 13b not so long ago, the engine came with the tranny, but i did not bother since it was written Rx7 on the tranny. i though this was a regular 12a engine, so i "sold" it to a friend, but it doesnt fit, he says its too short, im gonna get my tranny back, but i want to know if pre-rx7 tranny wer shorter or had visible distinctive stuff so i can check from where the tranny come from.

 

i hate to do this but... at ausrotary.com do a search and you will find an article/post called "everyting you will ever want to know about mazda gear boxes". it is probably THE best write up on tranny differences that ive ever found. hope this helps
