Tranny problem/question

Ok. This is going to be hard to explain, so bare with me.

OK. So if my car is ideling, in neutral, there is no noise or anything. Then i push the clucth in. Still nothing. But when i put in gear, still with the clutch in, it makes a rough winding noise, whichs ounds like its coming from the tranny. so as i take off, it goes away as soon as the major load is off the clutch. SO it goes away as im cruisng, but when i down shift and put a moderate load on the clutch, it comes back really loud. My dad thinks its a throwout bearing, but i dont know if 7s even have a throwout bearing. Any ideas?

Yes, it does. Ussually the noise will be present when you push the clutch in. However you are saying that it doesn't make noise until you put in gear. So I will have to guess it may be the input shaft bearing on the tranny. Yout dad may be correct though because you are describing kinda conflicting info???? It also could possibly be the pilot bearing I suppose, but not sure how. If it is any more comforting, you have to pull the tranny to replace ANY of those 3 parts and once you have it out it will probably be obvious which is bad.

Grasshopper, if you looked in the FAQ sticky at the top of the page, you would have seen a link to this.
