ok this is the story my old trany locked up on me car started fine , no problem then when i placed car in 1st it drove but the gears seem to be sticking the whole gear box locked up i couldnt force it into gear , then i turned off car placed it on 1st started car and car lounged forward , got a donor trany god knows how many miles it has installed it and turned it on put it in reverse was able to move the car , and then damit it locked or froze on me again , im desperate and hope someone can help me out with this , my friend says to change tranny fluid so i will do that tomo, but it semms like gears are not lining up and shifter is prevented from going into gear any help is greatly apreciated

 

You do not have a transmission issue but either a Hydraulic issue such as a bad clutch slave cylinder or a bad Clutch master cylinder. It is recommended that you replace both at the same time.

Check the fluid level in the Clutch master cylinder.
