Tracking electrical Gremlins?

thats right, i'm trying to find a electrical drop in my cars wiring. basically the voltage meter has never run above 12V normally 12a or 13b engine installed.

i guess what im lookin' for is a method of tracking down where its happening. i was thinking of pulling fuses while charging the battery and checking massive drops between the connections, atleast letting me know what part of the charging system is at fault. however this would be timely, there must be a easier way of finding my gremlin!

no fuses are blowing, there is no engine harness (holley setup) and as far as i can tell most of the car's wiring looks in order. however the column has been messed with in the past.

seems like the car has a 12V grounded somewhere, since when the car sits overnight it will go down to about 8V. its been like this since i bought it, 99% of the time it isnt a problem but i'd like to fix it!!

any suggestions as to how to track this bastard gremlin down?

i had a problem like that with a couple cars i had. they all ended up having to do with somebody installing a stereo. how i always narrowed it down was pulling half the fuses one night, if it still went down pulling half of the other half and so on. last time though i was able to see the drop with a voltage tester so it didn't take so long. good luck, those things SUCK!
