Ten years of searching...my new GSL-SE
Nice GSL-SEs are rare. Near perfect ones are rarer still. Those that are out there are usually priced proudly...and fairly, because the market will reward a good one. When a great one turns up at a cheap price, it is usually far, far away and gone in a heart-beat. Imagine my luck when, after ten years of looking, I hit the jackpot.
Two-owner, low miles, always garaged and covered 1985 GSL-SE in *great* physical and mechanical shape, located only 5 miles from me. Cold A/C, security system, nice stereo. Owner was asking $2,000 and I handed over the money without haggling. $2,000 is a fair price for an above average GSL-SE, but this one is about the nicest I've ever seen. It's actually somewhat sentimental too, as 1985 was the year I got my driver's license and -- believe me -- I would rather have been driving this '85 GSL-SE than the '76 Plymouth Sport Fury I had at the time.
Anyway, I think I scored!

Man!! For $2000 I wonder if the PO's but is a little sore. Very beautiful car you got there. Do you have a garage for it too? Hopefully it will look that good when you pass it on to another Rx- Lover.
It actually has 121K, but 92K of those were in the first 7 years (~30K in the last 13 years) and I suspect it was towed behind an RV or something, as there is virtually no wear in the interior. Probably all highway miles, at any rate. Of course, it helps that it was parked in a garage, out of the sun.
The pictures may be a littel deceiving...there are a couple door dings and minor scratches here and there. The windshield molding needs some touch-up paint to be perfect. And the front header panel, headlight covers and hood have some tiny rock chips...almost sandblasting (which is why I suspect it was towed behind an RV). Still, the paint is the brightest, unfaded stock paint I have ever seen; not a respray.
