I expect the '85 to run a high 17, maybe low 18, if I took it to the track in its current condition But i have some things up my sleeve. (fix header, better intake manifold, other goodies)

My '80 that I was running last year ran a best of 15.1 at the end of the year (started year doing 16.8ish times) and it could do 15.2-15.3 all day long. (There's a video on my website too. Hopefully I'll have a new one up soon, a 15.3 run but with a great shot of the tach. It's fun to hear the engine change tone at about 5500-6000 and charge to the end of the tach ) I expect to get the '85 at least that quick before opening up the engine

I like to say ZX-2s have GSL-SE power with 12A car weight. GSL-SEs ran about 15.9 stock but they weigh a bit more because of their larger brakes and more standard equipment, plus the '84-85 rearend (12A and -SE) weighs ~50lb more than the earlier one by some peoples' reckoning.

Stock '79s ran about 17-flat, and the 12A cars just got slower from there as they added more options and choked the engines down more.
