touge/hillclimb suspension questions.

Im looking for answers on some suspension stuff since i dont want to go wrong when it comes to my cars suspension.

i dont want to do anything to crazy since this car wil be street driven but at the same time id like to know...

-what springs/swaybars would be best.
-should i use a camber kit?
-should i use adjustable shocks and how should i set them up.
-tires and wheels. im planning on getting panasports, so what should i wrap them in?
-wheelspacers would these be worth using?

and if your gonna throw numbers at me explain them :P

Billy at RE Speed has the parts you need. Jim Susko has the best first gen. suspension book.

first you need to figure out how much money you have to play with,
If you have a certain amount of money you can spend, or
is your suspn upgrade something you will be completely overhauling at once, or
will you be upgrading the areas of most imortance, first as u can afford them??

Suspension isnt just shocks n springs, n swaybars
before worrying about springs, swaybars, camber kits and the like, you need to make sure that the front suspension bushes, ball joints, tie rod ends, pitman and idler arms are not worn out!!!!
If theyre not badly worn now, adding bigger wheels and hills driving will accelerate their wear rapidly anyway!!!!
theres no point buying running shoes is you have bad knees and ankles.....
you could have the best shocks and springs money can buy, but with an old/worn/tired front end your car will drive like crap, be unpredictable, and be hard to drive down the road in a straight line.....

everything on the front end seems to be perfectly fine when i bought it cept a couple bushings so i replaced them and im buying a polyurethane kit soon.

and ima be buying stuff part by part then putting it all on at once. whats the point in tearing down the car numerous times month after month to add a thing here and there. and im not buying wheels over 13's if i can help it lol

everything seems fine....lol
and how much money you spendin mate????

Ur buyin stuff part by part then fit at once coz u dont wanna tear down the car numerous times month after month.....huh????
the front strut ***. is the only part that really needs to be done as a whole..?

If you fit all the parts at once rather than in steps you will find it harder to learn how to drive your car, and harder to tune the suspension to the way you like it!!

try respeed for springs/swaybars/camberkits/shocks etc
the general answer is yes to everything
yes to camber
yes to strut braces
yes to adj shox so you can adj for varying conditions and your style
generally 2/3 hard front
1/2 hard rears depending on........
in my opinion 13s are a waste go 15s....AE86s drifters in japan usually go 15s
spacers are only needed if you dont get the right offset wheels
have fun!!!

everything seems fine as in i see no signs of significant wear and tear on them.
money isent really a problem ill get parts as i can afford them. but then again i dont wanna put on springs without shocks or arm bars without bushings. i kinda want to have the parts and the parts that correspond with them before installing them.

Hell, you're practically right next door to them anyway! Hit Billy up with a PM and he'll guide you along the way (Bwaits is his screen name on this forum). He helped with my setup and it rocks. I've never experienced their level of customer service/support before.

The questin I have is, are you running down hill touge? Because you'll want to set up your suspension a hell of alot different than hillclimb, so Having the same settings for both may run you into problems. You should figure out what your primary focus is, and then go about setting up your suspension from there.
