Hi all!

With WAY too many stupid questions...

I am looking to make this an extremely nice driver. I am very well experianced as a mechanic for the regulat old pushrod engine, but don't know squat about the rotory style.

Thanks a lot!

PS - does anyone know if the tec3 engine management system will work? I am getting one for my other two-seater car and really like what it can do.

edited because I am an idjit child and didn't read the FAQ first

There are no 2 port rotaries... There's 4 and 6 ports...

You have a 4 port...

That's two intake ports on the side housings per rotor...

The Haynes is pretty decent for this car, but the stock repair manual is available from www.mazdatrix.com ... It's about $80... you can check e-bay for a cheaper copy...

The later copies have HORRENDOUS illustrations and photos... I personally use both the factoy and Haynes... They compliment eachother very well.

For more on the rotary, check out the following links:

Also check the FAQ at the top of this section, as it'll help you out a lot... The rest of the car is standard. The only thing the average mechanic won't find familiar is the engine.
