Torque Wrench Testing and Use

Watched this earlier today and felt like it contained some useful tips and information that we can use. I watch this channel from time to time for impact tool testing and recommendations and have found their methods to be well thought out.

Lots of interesting information here. In particular what happens to a click type torque wrench that is stored at a high torque setting for several months. Whether or not socket extensions affect actual torque. And, the impact of anti-seize on actual torque.

I am a big fan of anti-seize on fasteners that I have to address often. Especially fasteners that are exposed to heat and moisture like brake parts and lug studs. I never use anti-seize on engine parts and always use the lube recommended by the manufacturer.

Regarding anti-seize, I use it on the lug studs of every car I own. I will continue this practice but will also pay attention to the impact and torque wrench settings I use.
